These hoes are hand forged from spring steel and are professionally heat treated in my shop in NC. They are forged from one piece of steel in a style that emulates some of the traditional farming implements. There are no welds or short cuts taken when forging these tools, and they perform accordingly. The cutting edge measures 6.5” across, and the thickness is just below 1/8”. The handle is hand carved American Ash and is nearly five feet in length. If you plan on starting a garden in the soil, a hoe is an essential tool as a smaller hand-hoe cannot break the earth as effectively.
